                       MY NEW FIELD OF INTEREST:

                          FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY

My interest in Photography keeps increasing day by day! It is too much that it is probably going to explode one day. Now there is a new field of interest - FASHION!!! Yes! Well I assisted Karthik Srinivasan (leading fashion-celebrity photographer in the industry) for few of his shoots as a part of my internship and I really got inspired. There is soooooo much you can do with just 1 'LIGHT' !
Lighting is kind of an interesting topic. Once you start to learn the basics and the techniques, you will literally fall in love with it! A small beam of light can make a huge difference. Many emotions can be described in the form of LIGHT.
Everyone out there knows what FASHION is... I started wondering about many things...how do we know what the latest trend is all about? How do we keep ourselves updated about the latest styles? and yes I finally found the answer! Its the PICTURES! Let me explain this- When you look at a fashion magazine the one thing that attracts your eyes is the picture of the model all styled up in different ways. I don't know about everyone out there but this is how I keep myself updated about the new fashion trends. Now you may wonder how this is related to Photography. Its simple! For example, you take a picture of a girl properly styled in an unpleasant background with no proper lighting...will that be pleasing to your eyes? In this current trend, will people even look at the picture like that? Nope! Now imagine the same girl standing in a proper background with proper props and lights..now will this image be pleasing to your eyes? Of course, it will! Now this is how photography is important in fashion too.
So I started trying out few such techniques and got a lot of good feedback from people. They told me how much pleasing the picture looks! Thats what pushed me to take more and more pictures in this field.
Try it yourself. follow the basics. And get the best!

I will start posting some of it soon... :)

                                      WHY PHOTOGRAPHY ?

Ok so some people may wonder WHY Photography? Well I would put up the question WHY NOT Photography? When I took visual communication as my course in college, people wondered WHY! Many asked me why I want to do Photography. But one thing that kept holding in my mind was "WHY NOT?" I always wanted to be a Professional Photographer. There were many challenges to face but what I learnt was success cannot be achieved without struggle.
They say "A picture speaks for itself", well that is 100% true. The feeling you get when you see a picture is something that cannot be defined. Giving such moments in your life is what makes you a better Photographer.  A communication that is done through a picture is way more powerful than words. I am a nature lover, a traveller. When people see my pictures, they tell me how much they miss the green tree, the soil, the breeze... This is one such achievement for me because now they realise how much they miss it and what they should do to save it. A Photographer has to inspire people, tell things which cannot be said through words.

“The best images are the ones that retain their strength and impact over the years, regardless of the number of times they are viewed.”
Said Anne Geddes.

Achieving that makes you a better Photographer.
Click pictures... Inspire people...

                           THE HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY

I have always wondered who came up with this idea of capturing a moment and saving it for a lifetime.. This really pushed me to do Visual Communication and guess what?! I found the answer for my question.. It was first attempted by Thomas Wedgwood. It all started after the discovery of the principle of Camera obscura and the observation that some substances are visibly altered by exposure of light.

The word "PHOTOGRAPHY" is attributed to Sir John Herschel in 1839, 'Photo' means Light and 'graphy' means Drawing. So it is basically drawing with light. The first ever concept started with a Pin-hole camera, where an inverted image was formed at the end. By developing this as a step-by-step process, the whole thing turned into magic and at the end this was the result we got!!! :)

Thanks to him. It was all because of him we have this wonderful technology for capturing our precious moments. CAMERA has now become a part of everyone's family. Digital cameras, mobile cameras and yes of course DSLRs, are all now very common. Using a DSLR is now a child's play.

Well, now people.. Take your camera and go start clicking pictures :)
There is no better way to express your feelings visually than this..
